Hello ppl!

Today went to watch inception

Here are some of my thoughts I want to share.

First i'll talk about the movie.
As a whole, i felt that it was a great movie!
Action packed, kept me on my toes!
It was brilliant!

However, the movie was really complex and not easy to follow.....
BUT!
If you persevere to the end, the story is actually very simple.
So this movie has action, complexity and simplicity.
Ok. You guys must be wondering what the bonkers this guy is saying right?

Basically, the complexity was the storyline. It wasn't easy to follow a 4 layered dream, in other words, a dream in a dream in a dream in a dream.
Haha!

On the simplicity part, i think this movie wants to highlight 3 main topics and 3 main issues.

Firstly that of an idea. It is in fact the main crux of the main character.
An idea is extremely dangerous as mentioned by the main character. It is like cancer.
It manifests from within, spreads like wildfire, and can be impossible to stop.

Manifest from within meaning that it starts from a small spark, or should I say inspiration. Then, the spark evolves to become an idea or ideology. And this ideology will govern this person.

When I say it spreads like wildfire, it's both in the personal and inter-personal level.
Firstly, the person will exhibit a change in the ways they do things. Their actions. As their actions, reactions, or even emotions are governed by the ideology.
Next, the person has the potential to spread their ideology to others and influence others to do things the same way as them.

Then I say it is impossible to stop. Actually I am a little wrong about that, but yet I am more or less right about most of it.
In order to change a person's ideology, it must come from within, the person must fight the internal battle of reasoning and logic, whether flawed or not, and destroy the pillars which support the idea from within. In other words. It is an internal battle, a battle in the person's mind.
If the ideology is deeply rooted within the person, it is nearly impossible to change the person's mindset, even if the person try extremely hard to change the mindset. Thus because of nature of an idea, external help have little or no effect.
But I'm not trying to say that we should not help people who are mislead by ideology.

Instead, we should try and get them to be open to new mindsets, new ideas. Get them to open up and share the pillars supporting their ideas.
Enter their personal space, their deep thought processes.
And try and convince the person to change their flawed ideology IF you really care about the person and want to see change. But i must emphasise that we have no right to impose a view on others, even if it is a flawed view others are taking. We only have to right to voice out our personal views and offer help when needed. Even if you really care about a person, you have no right to force them to follow their demands, we only have the right to try our best to convince them to change and offer our support.

Ok anyway, enough on ideology it's a very touchy topic. I don't wish to really discuss it.

Next thing that is constantly highlighted in the movie is the issue of reality versus our perceived reality(in the movie it's dreams, but even in reality we can perceive something untrue to be true e.g living in denial)

The main message that the movie is trying to convey is that. Ultimately at the end of the day, we can continue to live in denial etc. But the problems faced in reality will always remain, the truth cannot be changed. So it is crucial that we accept reality as soon as possible and do something about it rather than sulk over it, or moan over the past, hoping that we can continue living in the past.
That is the way of life. We have to keep on moving, but must at the same time remember to stop to enjoy life and treasure what we have around us.

Finally the last thing is that we must always be open to others.
There are people who care about us.
Sometimes, we must let others into our lives and seek their advice on what to do.
A third party may know better than you what's really going on.
Thus, we must learn to trust others, and let down our guard a little more often.
For there are people who genuinely want to see you in a much better state then now.

This movie really has a lot of meaning attached to it on top of all the action and complexity.
I think this is a really a very good movie as it managed to convey many simple messages through a complex manner to keep the watchers on their shoes and keep on watching, and at the same time appreciate and awe at the action packed scenes.
I would recommend it to everyone!

Personally it has quite an impact on me and left me in deep thought.
Haha!
Anyway! see you guys around!
I hope i still have readers although i don't blog often XD
